Yes, really. I mean, two of the most pathetic dredges of British Civilization having at each other as if they weren't both equally pathetic.

All we need is for the Irish to get involved, and the hattrick of crud is complete.

Did it ever occur to you that the Irish might resent being left out?

Bastard.

The Irish suck at making alcohol. The Scots know how to distill.
But they excel at making moving songs about their meaningless successes against the British:

This is Professor Peter Doherty:
He discovered how the body's immune system distinguishes virus-infected cells from normal cells.

This is Fred Hollows:
He restored eyesight to an estimated 1000 000 people. Okay, he was born in New Zealand, but Mel Gibson was born in the US.

This is Edith Cowan:
She campaigned for female suffrage in the late 19th century, was the first woman elected to Parliament, and worked for women's and children's rights throughout her life.

If you're going to defend Australians, at least pick some examples that aren't geeky media properties.

FWIW, I don't dislike America or Americans.  I actually find it a fascinating place.

I just don't want Australia to end up the same way.

DROOG -- Perfect 10. Well, three, but they scored a 10.

And anyway, I picked those characters etc. to make this statement: "Australians do cool stuff, we do cool stuff; they do dumb stuff, we do dumb stuff. Deal."
