This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Has anyone read "The Stormlight Archive"?

My library (brick and mortar!) has the books in their "English language" section. Is it worth buying the first one to check how is it?
For every idiot who denounces Ayn Rand as "intellectualism" there is an excellent DM who creates a "Bioshock" adventure.

I really liked the Stormlight Archive when its first book The Way of he Kings was published. After reading it i started reading almost everything from Brandon Sanderson. The world in that book is Epic, exotic and immersive. If you want to check if Sandersons books are for you i recommend his internet site and especially ''Warbreaker''. The thing is, he writes some books as set in the same universe called the Cosmere, so there is a giant backstory in the background. Also Sanderson has a work ethic and output that puts other writers to shame(he wrote four books in response to covid lockdowns in the meantime betweeen his other books). And Stormlight Archive is a 10 book sequence, we are currently at book four but after the fifth one there will be a timeskip.
