This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I got the DVD yesterday and watched it last night before bed.

Then I watched it again before actually sleeping.

The movie isn't an action-adventure, there aren't a lot of shootouts or starships blowing up, but it captured my attention and engaged me like a lot of recent shows haven't. The acting wasn't over the top, but much more believable and nuanced than what I've seen with BSG. Often I forgot that I was watching a TV movie and just enjoyed being egrossed in the plot. Caprica is science fiction intelligently written and executed.

If anyone else has seen this, share what you think.
"Meh."

I have it lying around to watch eventually but I haven't gotten around to it, yet. It's good to hear something positive about it though.

My wife and I love the BSG series, and the New Caprica series looks phenomenal!  My wife likened it to the works of hard-SciFi writer Robert J. Sawyer in depth and morality.

I also enjoyed it immensely and can't wait for the series to start.  jswa, you should get onto watching it, it's very, very good science fiction.
