SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: Saphim;227705I'd say exalted is a fair bit more successful than anything that will ever be written by you and rebecca borgstrom had no small part in its success.

You're quite right, saphim! She had not even a small part in its success.

Last I checked, she had nothing to do with the writing of the Exalted 1e corebook, and her sourcebook for exalted is considered by many to be the most illegible incomprehensible piece of crap in the entire series.

Quote from: Engine;227718Less than 24 hours later...

Did RPGdouchtard "refuse" to reveal his other ID? Is it possible that, given the brief period he or she was given to respond, that this person simply did not have an opportunity to do so?

I think it's very irregular that a user admits openly and publicly that they've forgotten the password to a previous account, used very briefly over a year ago, and then is given less than 24 hours to make public the previous account before they are banned. This is not what I would consider the anti-authority, moderation-light site I thought this was intended to be.

Could the response in this case have something to do with the poster's name and the implications of Animalball involvement, and RPGPundit's personal responses to those things, and not to the actual actions taken by the poster? That would seem an unfair and arbitrary execution of administrative action.

Yes, of course it does.  It has to do with all of the factors put together: the fact he was an admitted sockpuppet, didn't reveal his other ID (because it would no doubt have compromised him as such an obvious troll), AND the fact that the name he chose was meant to be a direct personal insult to another poster; implying clearly that his only motive for being here was to attack that poster.  Posters, ALL posters here, including you, and including me, have a right not to be stalked.  If someone who hates you from some other site comes to theRPGsite for no purpose other than to annoy you and names themselves "Engine-Douchetard", you would be well within your rights to ask me to do something about that.

The fact that you're trying to defend this fuckhead demonstrates just how low you and your ilk are willing to go in order to try to score cheap political points against me.

And now, since anyone reasonable has long since left this thread; and all of you assholes still on it believe that I'm an RPG.net style moderator anyways, I'm closing this thread. Its become a pointless place for the Animalball gang and the Swine to keep trying to attack me and get cheap shots in.
