This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Any other astro-geeks out there?

What kind of gear are you using?

How often do you view?

Are you into photography or just visual?

Do your gamer friends take any interest in it?
Don\'t forget rule no. 2, noobs. Seriously, just don\'t post there. Those guys are nuts.

Speak your mind here without fear! They\'ll just lock the thread anyway.

I used to be well into amateur astronomy, using a pair of binoculars. I just don't have the time anymore and I moved close to a city, so the light pollution makes things difficult for dim objects.
None of my gamer friends is remotely interested in real astronomy.

So atheists have been abused, treated badly by clergy or they\'re stupid.They\'re just being trendy because they can\'t understand The God Delusion because they don\'t have the education, plus they\'re just pretending to be atheists anyway. Pundit you\'re the one with a problem, terminal stupidity.

Anthrobot's amateur astronomy associates are aghast as arguments aimed at  alleviating aggravating aphotism are automatically acceded.
If you read the above post, you owe me $20 for tutoring fees

I love astronomy, even if I don't really get the advanced physics/math parts of it (nor will I ever "see" the constellations other than the big dipper).

Living in the middle of a city, and in the cloudy midwest, I don't actually try and use a telescope or anything, though I do like looking up at the few stars I can see when I take the dogs out at night.

I love looking at things like hubble photos, etc.
Now Prepping: One-shot adventures for Coriolis, RuneQuest (classic), Numenera, 7th Sea 2nd edition, and Adventures in Middle-Earth.

Recently Ended: Palladium Fantasy - Warlords of the Wastelands: A fantasy campaign beginning in the Baalgor Wastelands, where characters emerge from the oppressive kingdom of the giants. Read about it here.

I live in the north burbs of Chicago, and the LP is horrible.

We were vacationing in Wisconsin last week, and one night while camping near Prairie du Chien (basically middle of nowhere), I easily picked out the Veil Nebula for the first time. This was in my 7x50s (binos).

Of course my gf didn't give a crap. But I sure was geeked about it.

Did you get a license to use alliteration from the proper authorities on this site?
