Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). Ed, man, I think you are a really nice guy, but sometimes you bring this things upon yourself. Most probably unwillingly, but there you are.

Aos - you made me laugh. :D

Better yet, if you have an excellent science fiction story to tell, why not tell it in some other universe entirely? Instead of revisiting Star Wars, why not invent an all-new franchise? But that's not how it works, I fear.
When you\'re a bankrupt ideology pursuing a bankrupt strategy, the only move you\'ve got is the dick one.

And here's a helpful hint - when a person brings up being around chicks in every single post, no matter how relevant it is or isn't, it starts to look kind of pathetic and makes people start to question the veracity of the statements (and speculate on reasons one might make false statements to that effect); or at the very least, it gets annoying like hearing a dumb catchphrase over and over again.  Mix it up a little.  It's not necessary to point out women are around you every time you make a statement.
Now Prepping: One-shot adventures for Coriolis, RuneQuest (classic), Numenera, 7th Sea 2nd edition, and Adventures in Middle-Earth.

Recently Ended: Palladium Fantasy - Warlords of the Wastelands: A fantasy campaign beginning in the Baalgor Wastelands, where characters emerge from the oppressive kingdom of the giants. Read about it here.

As for me, I'm a little let down. I'm only being an asshole in two threads? My game is slipping, yo.

C'mon. It was funny and you can't go around talking about your lady friends without drawing some fire.

I hear the Clone Wars stuff already out on DVD is good. Is that so?

I saw it! Took the kids.

I couldn't figure out which one was the racial stereotype. There was a really lispy Hutt in there, but I didn't see him as any particular race. He kinda reminded me of an effeminate Boss Hogg.

I don't obsess about Star Wars, so I took it for what it was. The fight scenes were cool. It was an enjoyable cartoon, about on par with Justice League Unlimited. If they made a sequel, or put it on Cartoon Network I'd watch it over Naruto, any day.
Download Secret Santicore! (10MB). I painted the cover :)

Him and the Scottish rhino that Obi Wan "negoiates" with.

But, hey, they've got a whole series to dream up some more. Maybe they should get a big world atlas from the turn of the century and have at it....

You know, this is all sort of funny after how Lucas & Co. got so itchy from the criticism that the Trade Federation dudes from The Phantom Menace sounded like bad charicatures of the Japanese.  So, it's okay, even desirable, as long as it's in the context of a cartoon?

Nah, those characters were CGI animations too. The problem Lucas got into with Phantom Menace wasn't so much the accents as it was the racist stereotyping and the whole thing was worse than the sum of it's part because he frontloaded the movie with the most racist scene. For example in the MSM lots of editorials agreed that the characters from later in the movie were racist, but they didn't agree on which race or culture.

If Lucas presents them as comedic or well rounded characters he should be ok, although I imagine the perception of racism from that opening scene in Phantom Menace will continue loom over his future works until he knocks one out of the park.
