This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I figure we're only about 10 years out from the first remake of A New Hope.

I have an awful feeling you're right.

It's so depressing, because the universe is so cool.  It's that lame pandering to marketing that made them fit this story in between the existing movies.  Why not something in between the two trilogies, when the narrative is much more open?  Everybody and his dog hates Anakin, so why do we have to keep featuring him?

As I've said somewhere before, the more and more this goes along, the more apt we ( being the nerdboy fandom jiggling with impotent rage "we," that is) are going to thank Lucas for his idea and politely put him in a old-folks' home where he can spin his tales in relative obscurity while we skip merrily off with his ideas/stuff into the sunset.

Dude just doesn't know when to shut the hell up, or pass the torch along, does he?
I start from his boots and work my way up. It takes a good half a roll to encompass his jolly round belly alone. Soon, Father Christmas is completely wrapped in clingfilm. It is not quite so good as wrapping Roy but it is enjoyable nonetheless and is certainly a feather in my cap.

'Both Father Christmas and Roy Orbison are completely wrapped in clingfilm,' I say to Jetta.

I place Santa next to Roy and stand in between them. With some difficulty I wrap all three of us up together as best I can. We enjoy a quiet but satisfying yuletide until people from the social services come to release us.

God Bless us one and all.

Paul Verhoeven was considered to direct Return. He should have done the prequels working from a Joe Eszterhas script.

Nice imagery there.

Oh Jeez!!

Just imagine the mega-violence, blood spattering scenes...and oh yeah Elizabeth Berkeley in that slavegirl outfit doing a lapdance for Han Solo.

...and they'll replace Han Solo with a friendly talking Wookie that looks like a Muppet to make it more child friendly.  Or if Lucas is dead, maybe we'll get the hard R-rated Verhoeven version that does to Star Wars what they did to Battlestar Galactica.

I sure hope Lucas has a good plan for what to do with all the money. I almost forgive Bill Gates for being such a shark in the computer world, for what he's been doing in retirement.

Anakin : Master Kenobi, you fucked Padme.

Obi-Wan : From a certain point of view.

Anakin : A certain point of view?

Obi- Wan : Look, it was late, I was high on deathsticks and only saw the top of her head. How the fuck could I know it was her....

Later that day.

Senator Palpatine : What's the matter Anakin ?

Anakin : Obi -Wan is fucking Padme.

Senator Palpatine: Oh dear me.

Anakin : I gotta step up my game.

Senator Palpatine :  The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural

Anakin : Unnatural..like rimming?

Cut to a closeup of Padme's face

(in the background Chris Isaak's Baby Did a Bad Bad Thing is playing)

I saw Mongols the other night. That was pretty awesome. Temujin kept getting captured and enslaved and escaping and when imprisoned in an open air cage for a year in the rain he just put up with it and plotted his escape, he was like a PC.

Rules for effective DMing:
1. Bring snacks.
2. The dice are always right.
3. I master the game, the game does not master me.
4. Momentum over perfection.
5. The game must go on!

It has, in fact, all the hallmarks of the new Star Wars: insipid plots so full of holes you could drain spaghetti with them, dialog that is leaden and dead enough to come with it's own casket, pale stabs at "humor,"

Exactly my feelings toward the new trilogy of Star Wars. I watched the first film at the theater, and thought "what the fuck is this shit?". I felt the second film was going to suck, but watched it nonetheless, and it sucked. I haven't watched the third film yet, I've got better things to do, like staring at a wall.

Could it be that I liked the original trilogy due to nostalgia? I don't think so, when I watch the original trilogy as an adult, I keep thinking how wonderful those films were. Only to hear Darth Vader's line it's worth it.

I saw CLONE WARS for free at a sneak preview , with my friend Katrina sitting on my left side, and Lady C sitting on my right side.

As a result, I was in a sort of awkward good mood frame of mind when I saw it.
