This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

are okidokie, apparently, with Steve Jackson and his modclique.

Here's a link to a thread about "Jap aviation quality", and yes, the poster used the term "Jap" in the title:http://forums.sjgames.com/showthread.php?t=22341

Let's see now, users have been banned for saying things about islam oppressing free speech because, somehow, that was 'RACIST!!!" despite the fact tha tislam is a religion and not a race, but calling japanese people "japs" isn't a bannable offense.

Oh well, I guess you have to be texan to understand what's "RACIST!!!" and what isn't, like jackson, his 'friend' hackard and so on.....

Dammit, I thought this was going to be a thread about "B.C."...

Why are there so many songs about rainbows and what's on the other side? Rainbows are visions, but only illusions, and rainbows have nothing to hide.

What you tend to say about Islam is incorrect, biggoted and about eight shades of stupid...

...but it isn't racist. Because Islam is all the fuck over the map. Outnumbering Christianity... what is it? Threefold now? All over Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia... everywhere.

So yeah, not all biggotry is racist.

So wait... you continue to read a forum you've been BANNED from, hoping to find someone MORE deserving of being banned than you, who wasn't.

Then you start a thread here about that?

Is that what this is about?

It's a thread about WWII planes, on another forum, and this thread, like you an increasing amount of the time, has fuckall to do with gaming or this site.

The sock puppets, asshatry, and general disobeying of the rules on what is afterall the free public forum of a *company* (as in they have a private forum that isn't free, the free forum is a courtesy only) had not a thing to do with your banning(s). Uh-huh. Pull the other finger, it has bells on it.

All the fuck over the map, yes, but number two, and by quite a bit.
Interesting to see who's at three as well.

Snip informative stuff.

Wow. So I guess it was the majority country-wise? Not that it would matter, given the sizes of said countries.

Also, I notice an absence of Mormonism. They just counted as another Christian sect?

EDIT: Zoroastrianism beats neopaganism. That makes me happy.

Yes, these stats lump pretty much every denomination of a particular faith together; and there's nothing wrong with that, though I do believe there are more sunni muslims in the world than any other denomination (though that is also deceptive, since there are many groups in Sunni Islam that could be divided into different "denominations" too).  Catholics are by far the largest denomination in Christianity.

Also, the 1.1 billion "atheists" is only if you count China's population as being "atheist", which they are officially, but that's pretty well by government decree, and in practice many people who are listed as "atheists" by Chinese nationality actually practice Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, or any combination of the three put together. There are also potentially as many as 100 million practitioners of Falun Gong, though that number is probably a gross overestimation.  Even so, there's probably more Falun Gong practitioners in the world than there are Scientologists at the very least, and that 500k figure for Scientology is also a gross exaggeration.

I thought it was a citrus fruit.  There were a couple of others on that list I had to wiki, despite me being a theology geek

In the Aussie census it's listed as a religion, too. We have zero adherents of it, though.

The Adherents.com site from which apparition13's figures came describes Juche as a religion here. For those brave enough, there's a site here, International Institute of the Juche Idea.

The line between "religion" and "life philosophy" is a pretty blurry one, I reckon. But if a "life philosophy" takes up a person's entire life, dominating every aspect of it day-to-day... that seems pretty religious. Religions also usually have prophets, and Kim Il-Sung certainly fits that role in North Korea. When couples marry, they visit a statue of him to pay their respects; in this way, he's treated like someone in Chinese or Japanese ancestor worship, like a buddha, or a Christian saint. Kim Il-Sung has been declared President forever, despite his death. Their new dating system comes from his date of birth - like Jesus.

I think there's a good argument for consider Juche as a religion. It takes up their whole lives, has a prophet who's worshipped and considered immortal, and they count the years from his birth... sounds like a religion to me.

I'd also like to add that "Juche" is German for "yippy!". Add an "a" and you get "Jauche", i.e. manure. But please don't jump to conclusions...
