Yeah, and I gotta wait A WHOLE WEEK to see the next episode, and then maybe A YEAR AND A HALF until there's more Doctor Who.
GRRRR!
-
P.S. Dig that crazy all-signing, all-dancing promo for Eureka.
-
Journey's End is very cool too! There's another surprise companion in it.

I won't say, because I don't want to ruin it for everyone here. PM me if you really want to know.
EDIT: I'm sure that Sci-Fi will cut most of it like they usually do, because the episode is over an hour long without commercials. They butchered the end of Fires of Pompeii, cutting out a whole scene.

That's what DVDs are for!

If we could fucking afford them!! I mean My Gawd Man!! $100.00 for 13 episodes??!!???
Hell, "LOST" does 22-24 episodes per season and they only cost aropund 44 to 50 bucks each year.
Its almost as bad as the prices that Games Workshop charges!!! (Even if I used my store discount , their prices are too damn high)

That was awesome. :)

Oh and the music ROCKED out in this episode. It was lkike the merging of the TORCHWOOD percussion stuff and the DR WHO themes cranked up to Ee-lev-EN!!
Just watched the 2nd showing on American Sci-Fi Channel.

It was an excellent episode, they really updated the look of Mr kelaD himself while staying close to the original look.
-
Without doubt the most exciting 45 minutes of television I've seen this year. In interview Russel T Davies said he was writing a finale that maintained the pace and excitement of the final ten minutes of Utopia throughout, a claim which I thought was wildly optimistic. Yet with The Stolen Earth he makes good on his promise, it's about as perfect as an action-orientated episode of Who can be.

It's largely down to the silicone material they use for the skin, apparently. Whatever the case, I agree. Mr. Ross looked fucking brilliant. Whilst I thought the robotic claw was a nice little touch, it actually sent the continuity spod I was watching the episode with into giggling fits of joy.

Now you know the sort of prices we have to put up with in the UK! That Lost stuff here is the same as yours - just with a £ sign put in front. IE, double the actual price you pay.

So what did they cut? PM me if you don't want to post it.

At the end, the family moves to Rome and the son gives thanks to their new household gods.

Plainly that's because, unlike ours, yours is an imaginary currency.
Little-known fact: Did you know that in England, you can cross a price out with a permanent marker and write in the price that you want to pay? Because it's made-up money. Totally true.

Great episode. I saw the finale a couple of weeks ago, and it's a bit of a disappointment from the HUGE cliffhanger, but still a very worthwhile and excellent episode.
I'm a Doctor Who fan from way back, so seeing old you-know-who as the villain again was, well, amazing.

Stolen Earth and Journey's End were okay. There were bits I really liked (the TARDIS flight at the end, for example), but one the whole, I felt a bit let down. It had a lot of potential, but...And I don't like the resolution with you know who.
But I'll see how I feel after a second viewing.

I think that Journey's end is MUCH better after a second viewing.

Well, I'll be getting series four for the Moffat episodes and Midnight, so I'll watch it again at least once. It's not that I dislike it per se - 'cause there's a lot in there for love - but...eh. It feels more like a miss than a hit.

I had that same feeling the first time around. I don't know. It just kind of didn't work for me. But when I watched it again, I really started to enjoy it. :huhsign:

Hey Guys? You don't have to dance around mentioning stuff from next week's American showing. I read ahead and the wikipedia entries for the show -SO I know the gist of what happens and the big secrets and all that stuff.
Do they ever release CDs of the show's music??
I thought the dramatic music in the middle of the episode rocked out and I'd love to a CD of that. (We're talking about the montage where TORCHWOOD anmd Sarah Jane are putting the Harriet Jones plan into action....relly percussive music was used to back that sequence)

Thinking about it, I enjoyed it. I mentioned the TARDIS flight near the end - I've been a Who fan since 1980 or so and when I realized what was happening, I had me a geekgasm. So, emotionally, I definitely enjoyed it.

I liked K-9's brief cameo.
I'm such a dork. :D

Affirmative.

The part that blew me away was reading the ratings report on Wiki that said the finale got like 45% of the viewing audience in Britain. I'm sure the TV viewing landscape in the UK is a bit different than here, but I can't imagine a show pulling those kinds of ratings in the US, any show.
-
The Finale just started 6 minutes ago on American Sci-Fi Channel - they gave it a 90 minute timne slot tonight. At least I know they're not totally gutting it with the edits.
At 11:00pm there is a replay of it.

Aos,
Whatever image you posted showed up as a red 'X'.

I'll try to find another host for it. It's mildly amusing and very much on topic, but I'm on wireless now and it's a bitch to transfer images. thanks for the heads up.

No I fixed that, still got nothing. I've gone ahead and attached it.
-
As a friendly and probably too late warning don't watch the second part; it's utterly utterly dire.
