This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Aaaaaaaaaaand looks like Safe Space and Snowflake will still sully the comic book stores' shelves.

Did you really think they wouldnt? Marvel will willingly lose money just to get their "message" out there.

Donkeys & Flutes, Broken Clocks, etc.

By accident they could have taken a smart decision.

Here is why this forum tends to be so stupid. Many people here think Joe Biden is "The Left", when he is actually Far Right and every US republican is just an idiot.

No no you got it wrong, Snowflake and Safespace are the Storm twins but with added Incest! Now that will make the poeple happy, gotta rake in that Game of Thrones crowd to comics.

Didn't Marvel already try that with Ultimates Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch?

Well, they went straight to TPB and not to the Comic Book Stores but Book Stores... This is kinda good news since it won't hurt the LCBS AND it will give the exact numbers of sales to customers and not the sales to the stores.

Not the same thing, she's not a fat cow, but they rebooted the comic because of low sales ~60k and made her a feminist ideal by de-powering her. Not a joke.

This time DC made an alternate cover for who exactly?

Also, I'm not a great artist and yet...

Far as I know the main series is not cancelled/rebooted.  These days, sad to say, 60k isn't bad sales for something that isn't your bread and butter characters.  While WW is popular, she's no Batman or Spider-Man.

The current series did recently change writers.  I've heard her first issue on the title get average reviews.

This cover by Rooster Teeth is an alternate cover for a miniseries(?) tie-in to the movie coming out.

Meanwhile Cyberfrog got over a million in funds from its second issue alone.

The Cyberfrog 2 IGG campaign also contained multiple versions of the book, 2 other books, 2 toys, original interior art (at $1k/page) and 3 pieces of cover art (which all sold for $10k each) and other things.  That $1,056,672 came from only 9,331 backers, so nowhere near the 60k "low sales" of Wonder Woman.

So while that's awesome for EVS and Cyberfrog, it makes it a hard comparison to make directly vs any single book.

Full disclosure here: I was one of those 9,331.  I backed the Honeycomb Box + the 1-day-only Ides of March variant.

Yep, now with lot's more population their main characters don't even break into the 100k issues that easy.

Yes, the cover is for a Tie-In with the movie or something, think it will help sell the movie?

Think it will help grow the sales of the regular series?

Or, more likely it will make anyone coming from the movie and seeing that as his/her first WW book go NOPE! And maybe drive ticket sales for the movie down?

Plus, the art is fucking shit.

Exactly, not an apples to apples comparison.

A more appt one would be Alterna that has somehow managed to grow as fuck while the big 5 shrink. With the usual suspects in the specialized press and the industry constantly trying to destroy them.
