This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Star Trek Discovery admits it's set in the alternate timeline.

The notion of an exclusionary and hostile RPG community is a fever dream of zealots who view all social dynamics through a narrow keyhole of structural oppression.

I never watched it, but even I knew it was set in the alternate (Kelvan) Timeline.  In other news, Water is wet.

Since I don't read forums to watch videos, did I just shit my pants by assuming something?
For you the day you found a minor error in a Post by Spike and forced him to admit it, it was the greatest day of your internet life.  For me it was... Tuesday.

For the curious: Apparently, in person, I sound exactly like the Youtube Character The Nostalgia Critic.   I have no words.

Apparently so.

"Afterward, during the Q&A, more specifics were shared about the timeline for ST: Discovery. Goldsman confirmed that the series takes place in the Prime universe. "It's not the J.J. [Abrams] verse or the Kurtzman verse. "

Ok, so which timeline is it then?  Your headline and the topic of the unwatched video both suggest that its the Kelvan timeline, and your link in the third post suggests its the OG timeline.

I, along with many other people, assumed Discovery had to be Kelvan because, you know, look at it.  And again, your OP suggests that they are now admitting it was so.  So...

At this point, I think there's conflicting information.

The show runners said it was the Prime timeline.

Now, this episode says it's the Kelvin timeline. Or an alternate timeline spun off from the Kelvin timeline. An alternate universe within an alternate universe.

Who knows what tomorrow may bring?

Crisis on Infinite Federations?

I know nothing about STD (really?), and completely tuned out about halfway in when he started talking about the actual subject of the video. But the first half was mildly entertaining, as rants go.

That's pretty much what I've found to be true about STDisco. I've seen a few episodes that have bits I like, but then Michael shows up and does something that just makes me turn it off.

I tried watching this. I thought i could willpower myself into watching it till it got interesting, star trek shows are supposed to get better as they air. Then i just gave up and watched the Expanse instead. And im enjoying my decision.
