This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Zing! But I have a hard time offering a counter argument. I sometimes thought that the only thing Trouble Tickets was good for was to find out who got banned over the weekend.

I assume that Trouble Tickets was where the modclique took note of who they were going to add to the list of "future troublemakers", ie. the ones who went there to complain... like a factory with a "complaints box" who's only purpose is to find out who to fire in the next round of cutbacks.

EDIT to add: and yes, as Jong implies, it was also a trophy room where the modclique could gloat and use to hang over the other posters as a threat of what will happen to them too if they dissent.

Anyone ever figure out what that whole "statues of Roman emperors" thing was all about? Seemed like just one of a number of ways the community came up with the shun someone while making sure everyone knew they were doing it.

Edit: Look what floated to the surface in TT, from 2004 - is this what started it all?

No kidding.  There's actually a couple of threads I want to talk on there today, but I can never get in.

Seriously, it bears repeating - I haven't cut back on RPG.net because of any mod issues, but I hardly ever go there anymore just because it is such a lumbering dinosaur of technology.  If it wasn't "too busy" 99% of the day, I wouldn't mind so much - but lately its simply pathetic.
Now Prepping: One-shot adventures for Coriolis, RuneQuest (classic), Numenera, 7th Sea 2nd edition, and Adventures in Middle-Earth.

Recently Ended: Palladium Fantasy - Warlords of the Wastelands: A fantasy campaign beginning in the Baalgor Wastelands, where characters emerge from the oppressive kingdom of the giants. Read about it here.

From the look of it, the OP was given a fairly polite warning for what was after all a reasonably clear breach of the rules which are posted perfectly plainly at rpg.net.

The injustice, my god, the terrible injustice!

The servers are a fucking pain though, I do hope they find a way to help fix that a bit more.

I've been informed that this is some kind of British way of saying "fuck you" to the original poster. Not speaking the language myself, I'm not really sure, but just in case, don't do that again.

  • A section of turf, removed for replanting.
  • A person, item or task that is annoyingly awkward (such as removing and replanting turf...)

So when I was called "old sod" it wasn't meant as a term of affection?

Good to know.

I just have to third this, because I know you've made the point twice, but it bears repeating.  They really need to get their shit together.  It's maddening!  Fucking prune those goddam tangency threads. Stop mollycoddling those losers who think conversations about bullshit they participated in 5 years ago are actually important.

Yarg!  I want to PM something valid to another gamer over there and the server keeps timing out.

Of all the forums I'm on, so far TBP is the only one that has had someone be nasty and be rude about everyone else's cxomments of grief and respect.

I don't see what his being an Obama supporter has to do with his being a douchebag. The two are neither mutually exclusive nor mutually inclusive.

Most Tangency Obama Supporters are also douchebags, from my readings. You'll note that I did not say "Obama Supporters", but that I added a qualifier. But I'm glad I got your attention at least. :P
