Nothing in that trailer makes me want to see this. I hope it's just a bad trailer.

Yep. I was confused because last I heard, they were doing a sequel after the first movie. Prequel series, 10 episodes.
If they do a lot of world building, it might be cool. If it's just puppets fighting each other, I'm going to be very dissapointed.

Oh fucking hell no.  Have you seen the armor in the witcher leak.  That armor look like black shriveled up balls.  If they show that much lack of care to a popular IP what do you think they are going to do to far lesser known IP?  I have no faith in woke Netflix.

   Unfortunately, I read the comic adapted from the sequel script, and it wasn't particularly original either. I think it suffers from being a fascinating world to poke around in, but only being suited for one actual story.

Brian Froud's books are excellent.

I'm a huge Dark Crystal fan and I expect this film to be a total shitshow.

Sadly, Henson is dead, and the failure of his successors with his IPs has been embarrassing.

His Faerie and Goblin books are very good too, but they're not Dark Crystal.

Not saying you're wrong, but I don't know. Re-watching the trailer in that context, I think there's a lot of crazy stuff they could do if they don't care if the performers are visible, since they can edit them out in post.
I also think due to the saturation of CGI, that a lot of people expect it now, and see it where it isn't.
