This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Shrieking Banshee

The movie was a mercy bullet to the undead corpse of star wars. Im glad it came out to just unilateraly compromise the universe as something that can be respected or taken seriously in any way. Im not being sarcasting.

I'm waiting for it to come out on streaming services. Which should tell you something right there.

My hope is that the sequel continuity will be mercifully forgotten, after the associated books and cartoon series die out.
Perhaps someday Disney will dust off the idea of sequels to the original films, and do a reboot, relegating the current sequel trilogy to Legends continuity.
The notion of an exclusionary and hostile RPG community is a fever dream of zealots who view all social dynamics through a narrow keyhole of structural oppression.

I had honestly hoped they would be able to get the sequel trilogy back onto the rails and deliver a satisfying conclusion. That didn't happen. They took an out of control trilogy and strapped a bunch of rockets to it, hoping that the sheer spectacle of the ensuing trainwreck would redeem it. Instead, I feel like it just dug a deeper crater for itself.

Frankly, I'm not sure what can even be salvaged from the sequel trilogy at this point.

Odds are they will reboot Star Wars with a new New Hope with a black lesbian Lucretia Skywalker, the oppressed by the patriarchy Islamic ragamuffin Hanna Solo and battle the now so white you can get a suntan standing near them Manpire. Hurray.

I mean those little cartoon shorts allready started small forays into this, so why stop there?
