This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

On the Wikipedia page for the British Science Fiction show "Primeval" it mentioned that the producers are srriously considering makjing an American spin-off of the show because of how popular it is on BBC America. Also, their previous productions known as the "Walking with Dinosaurs, Mammoths ...." did very well in America with DVD sales.

Here are the questions for all of you:

What city should be the main city or headquarters city in the American version or spin-off?

I think it should be one in the midwest just for the variety of prehistoric life that might have roamed some areas.

What actors would be a good choice for the show?

Regular network or Sci-Fi channel?

...also a spin-off that acknowledges the U.K stories and characters? Or an almost a straight re-do/remake of the British episodes and plots?

I personally think second choice is a bad idea - enough Americans have seen those episodes by now that we would something NEW ...but the same mostly good special effects.

An unnamed American city.

Giancarlo Esposito
Shohreh Aghdashloo
Ron Eldard
Benjamin Bratt
Russel Wong

too many to name....

QuoteRegular network or Sci-Fi channel?

Makes no difference to me.

The former.

if they make a tv show spinoff they should definitly link it to the british veersion somehow if only so they can procure some of the devices the uk team has found in the recent series, as for city i agree with the midwest idea since theres tons of dino dig sites around that they could draw on for inspiration.

I heard that warner bro's are making a big budget movie though so im not sure a tv version will be made for awhile and then most likely in a stargate sg1 style once they do.

I think the Midwest would be cool, plus the coasts seem to get most of the love in US tv and it would be nice to see a bit of a change to that.
