I was flipping through some random anime channel on Roku the other night and there was a show where the good guy was in a big robot and the bad guys had yellow fighter type ships that looked like stingrays. I didn't catch the name (might have started with a "B"). Sound familiar to anyone?

Was the robot flying around as part of a sort of UFO? Then its UFO Fighter Grendizer.
But could be any number of other anime series of the time as its a fairly common shape. Even pops up in Ultra Man.

That doesn't look like it. Some other things I remember:

-I think the good guy robot was operated by three guys
-On this episode, the bad guy base turned into some kind of robot, or at least completely changed shape (didn't really look like a "robot" after its transformation)
-The bad guy leader was female

I only watched it for 5 minutes so I didn't get many more details

I've never seen a three pilot giant robot show. Was it traditionally animated or CG/cell shaded? Was the aspect ratio 4:3 (like an old TV) or widescreen?

What did the giant robot look like? Were the pilots kids or adults?

Traditional animation. Adult pilots. Robot was mostly white with some blue and red I think, no wings on its head like some robots have. Looked like regular tv format.

Bad guy leader was female, but not readily recognizable as such. Had glasses and short hair, was not aware she was female until someone addressed her as such.

Figured it out. Space Warrior Baldios.

I was a little off on the robot's colors

Wow, I'd never even heard of that one.

I never watched a lot of the super robot shows, though.

Made in 1981, but it seems very much a holdover from the 1970's.
