My god, in america Byron Dela Beckwidth was hunted down and imprisoned while he was a doddering, sick, frail old man for ONE murder, but Pinochet gets off for being old.

Of course, the main reason that pinochet got off was he was a government leader, and other government leaders don't want an example to be set of government leaders being held accountable (With rare exceptions like saddam hussein and whatisname in yoguslavia) because someday they might be held to accounts.

As I said in my post, if you could comprehend it, you moron, pinochet gets off for killing god knows how many people (thousands, certainly) by claiming age and infirmity.

An average person who commits ONE murder doesn't get to play the "old and sick" card, he goes to prison and dies there.

Now, if your head had a little more brain, which you might have if not for your thick skull, you might have decuced I was not defending beckwidth or saying he should not have gone to prison for the murde rhe comitted, I'm saying that pinochet should not have been allowed to get off by dint of age and health either.

Well, you have to understand how the conservative "mind" works to understand their views.

In the first place, all that matters to a conservative in 'the economy", and in their view the economy means "How well the rich are doing and how fast they're getting richer". The normal working class people, their well being, their rights, their lives, mean Zip to conservatives, so as long as Chilean businesses are doing well and the top 1% of Chileans are getting richer, they say that everything is fine with Chile.

Secondly, Conservatives always claim that any economic "improvement' is due to conservative, right wing leaders whether or not those neaders have anything to do with it at all. For instance, when america's economy soared under bill clinton, supposedly, the conservatives claimed it was due to reagan and bush's presidencies.

Now that the economies tanked under W and a republican congress, they claim it's due to clinton's policies.

So basically conservativedclaim any "improvement", real or not, is due to conservtive leaders regardless of who is in power during these increases.

I learned to ignore conservative views after learning how they are usually formulated. You might want to do the same.
