This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Not surprising given the current climate but I'm not sure what they're planning. The usual suspects are thrilled too death.
Remember when Illinois Nazis where a joke in the Blue Brothers movie?

"The salient fact of American politics is that there are fifty to seventy million voters each of whom will volunteer to live, with his family, in a cardboard box under an overpass, and cook sparrows on an old curtain rod, if someone would only guarantee that the black, gay, Hispanic, liberal, whatever, in the next box over doesn't even have a curtain rod, or a sparrow to put on it."

Eh, it's a suit, technically anyone can be underneath it. It's a chance to tell some different, hopefully cool stories, and after a few months, Tony will back, and a good fraction of the internet can unrustle their jimmies.
Running: Dogs of WAR - Beer & Pretzels & Bullets
Planning to Run: Godbound or Stars Without Number
Playing: Star Wars D20 Rev.

A lack of moderation doesn\'t mean saying every asshole thing that pops into your head.

The notion of an exclusionary and hostile RPG community is a fever dream of zealots who view all social dynamics through a narrow keyhole of structural oppression.

I haven't read the article and I don't much care, seems cool... but I'm just curious, is the girl handicapped? Like, in a wheelchair when not in the suit...  'cause that would make sense to me (not really knowing much about Iron Person).

Hot black chick, bare midriff, gigantic afro, I'm honestly surprised that people haven't gone apeshit with a blaxsploitation/appropriation/intersectional meltdown.
Even the the "cutting edge" storygamers for all their talk of narrative, plot, and drama are fucking obsessed with the god damned rules they use. - Estar

Yes, Sean Connery\'s thumb does indeed do megadamage. - Spinachcat

Isuldur is a badass because he stopped Sauron with a broken sword, but Iluvatar is the badass because he stopped Sauron with a hobbit. -Malleus Arianorum

"Tangency Edition" D&D would have no classes or races, but 17 genders to choose from. -TristramEvans

Wait for it...

I think that might have come up faster if she was a brand new character not "replacing" a white male. Even a brazen stereotype is better than one of them :D

We don't have any Comic thread and I think they, as a whole, are as good source of inspiration as books or movies.

For example: it's certainly not for everyone, since at times it's damn psychedelic and weird (like "LSD cookies" weird), but Giffen's DOOM PATROL series provides plenty of useful RPG elements. I've [strike]stolen[/strike] borrowed truckloads of ideas (not to mention a few background characters) for my current campaign from it.
