This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

My guiltiest pleasure, revealed!

Two days ago, I was in the local JC Penny, and the in-store system started playing this song. Before I know it, I'm happy and smiling, carefree even. I'm a little kid again and it's nice, but why do I even know this song? I really don't like the rest of this group's music, and I don't it's one of their more known songs, but the damage has been done. This morning I grab the song on iTunes and I still really like it.

The song you ask?

Danger

Well, as far as guilty pleasures go, that's pretty tame.

I was hoping for something more along the lines of, say, "I secretly masturbate to pictures of rare skin diseases while wearing women's panties when I'm in the local library."

I mean, if you've got a guilty pleasure, go big with it.  Dig?
I start from his boots and work my way up. It takes a good half a roll to encompass his jolly round belly alone. Soon, Father Christmas is completely wrapped in clingfilm. It is not quite so good as wrapping Roy but it is enjoyable nonetheless and is certainly a feather in my cap.

arminius

Yeah, Ace of Base or ABBA or Modern Talking are more like guilty pleasures. Nobody's going to laugh at you for liking a Fleetwood Mac song.

Oddly I can't remember Everywhere. Just checked it out on Youtube, it's a nice song.

We somehow ended up with the "oldies" commercial radio station on in the house, and my wife caught me singing along to maybe a quarter of the songs.  Fuckin' Billy Joel.

"Still Rock and Roll to You", eh?

Bad Ian!

Ian Absentia

No, no.  Worse.  "Uptown Girl".

Right about now, Danger's suggested guilty pleasure doesn't sound like such a bad cop.

My idol would hate more for this, but I really do like "Piano Man".

"Uptown Girl" though.  Shit man.  You may as well just end it now, there's no hope left for you.

Hey Billy Joel bat a solid .500 in the 80s, which is as good as you can get in the music world. Except for U2. U2 in the 80s was awesome.

Thats understandable.

Joel has had a TON of hits played on the radio over the past 35 years.

Heck, yesterday I was accidentally filking the title of one of Rotwang's thread's to the tune of "Piano Man" .
Gotta imagine it :

"Bu-Ring me the head of Oh Dee and Dee 'cuz I gotta the need to game tonight!"
" La,. la...la-la.......la 'la...."

You get the idea.

Last time I admitted to a guilty pleasure here, Abyssal Maw made friends with me. I won't be making that mistake again!

...dude...

I am totally in the wrong line a'work.

Oh, and James?  No guilt, no shame in diggin' on The 'Mac.  I'm rather fond of "Hold Me" and most of Tango In The Night, because it's all good stuff.  So...

Sorry, mah brutha, but that is not a guilty pleasure.  Please enjoy responsibly.

And for that matter neither is liking Xanadu.

My wife talked me into seeing Billy Joel and Elton John at Madison Square Garden.  It was the last show Billy Joel did before canceling out of the tour because of an illness and let's just say that for the time he was out on stage (not all of it) he sounded quite medicated, ranting about what a rip-off Madison Square Garden and so on.  It was the worst concert I ever went to, in my opinion.

But on the guilty pleasure front, my wife also talked me into seeing Neil Diamond at Madison Square Garden.  That concert I really enjoyed.

Musicwise, I like ABBA.

'Nuff said.
