This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Wow, Just wow.

Apotheosis Blog (the one that posted the D&D commercial) has been posting clips from the upcoming Rocky Balboa Movie.

The clips can be found here

If these clips are any indication, Sylvester Stallone's writing is as bad as his acting.

I am interested to hear your thoughts on these clips and if you think that the dialog is as bad as I think it is.

Jeepers. Why does every video have to start playing at the same friggin' time!

I reserve judgment until I've actually seen the movie, but don't forget that Stallone got an Oscar nomination for his original Rocky script. And deservedly, if you ask me.

Are you using IE or Firefox?  I have found that with Firefox that happens, where it doesn't with IE.   A reason I went back to IE (well, there were a few other flaws that drove me up the wall

Or he may have gotten the Oscar because everything else that year was worse.  His dialog is horriable.

Happened to me both with Safari and Camino. I'll rather face a shooting squad than IE.

He was nominated. Network won.

Rocky wasn't about the dialogue. The story itself was pretty interesting. Nowadays the American Dream stories are not exactly en vogue anymore, but the Philly underdog rising to the challenge was quite good.
I liked the original movie. The sequels were  either bad or campy.

It won the award for best picture, beating Network, All The President's Men and Taxi Driver. The new movie will probably suck, granted. As long as it isn't as bad as Rocky V...

Stallone isn't the best actor in the world, but in the right role he isn't half bad. I'd rate him some notches above Keanu Reeves. He shares the same limited range of facial expressions...

Sylvester Stallone's last good movie was the first "rambo" one, "First blood". I thought it had some good points about how vets got treated, and some decent acting scenes.

The only other good movie stallone was in was "Death race 2000". (Sigh. Before your time, kid, before your time.)

I will say that he played "Judge Dredd" exactly as the character deserved to be played....

(Now to await flames from the JD fans out there.)

I dont know what to say.  I have tried to fix it so it wont happen and the embeded media is set to not start automatically.  Has to be something in the browswer that causes it.

Yeah well I am here in Pa outside of Philly so I heard about it when they were here filming as well as before and after filming.

While the first movie may have been about the feeling, this one just seems to be about him reviving his flagging career.

Hate to break it to you, but there is another Rambo in the works:

Rambo: IVL Pearl of the Cobra

That actually came out 3 years after I was born.

Well, if you've actually read the JD comics, the movie should be worse. He takes off his helmet, ferchrissakes.

I really, really liked "Oscar". Better than the French original.
Demolitian Man isn't bad either, if just for the quotes.

Admit it, it was was perfect right up until that point.  All the visuals were brilliant.  It just needed a script that didn't revolve around him removing his helmet
