Ok, so amongst other things I was recently accused of some crazy stuff about my background, but I thought people might find this interesting from a gaming perspective. This is a lot of my old stuff from the Army, including medals, certificates, and most importantly these challenge coin things. I was in the Army, but I worked in a joint service environment so I would sometimes get these coins from Air Force, Navy, or other units (like other federal agencies) that we worked with (and continue to work with).
"Buzuixian" is a Chinese drinking game. I was a linguist (98G) and I specialized in PLA ideology and culture, so that's the joke there.
I wona bunch of Soldier of the Quarter awards in 1999 at Ft. Meade.
This one is my GCM, plus the Air Force ISR challenge coin I got for teaching a series of classes at Lacklund AFB.
I won a lot of awards as a linguist. These are under glass on my coffee table so it's kinda dusty. Anyhow, the reason I kept this one is because it took place at the JLC and we beat Goodfellow AFB, (at least in Chinese) where we competed against some of our own instructors. It was my favorite "2nd place" award ever.
This is my JSAM. During my time at Ft. Meade Hong Kong actually was returned to the PRC, and we had an extensive joint mission dedicated to it.
This is the big certificate you get when you complete AIT. Some coincidences- I was at DLI around the same time as Clinton Nixon (it's how I know him actually), and if (I recall correctly) Diaglo from Enworld, was also in the same field, same duty stations, but a different time period. It's a small world.
Some medals and coins (thats the ARCOM, JSCM and GCM). I still work for the government and still get coins. The one on the right from STRATCOM came from a 3 star general. I just got it in 2008.
