This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Marvel Studios just put out a three minute trailer for their upcoming "Phase 4" movie releases. It's half "remember how awesome we were" and half teasers for their upcoming theatrical releases.

https://youtu.be/QdpxoFcdORI

Movies announced are:

  • Black Widow - July 9, 2021

  • Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings - September 3, 2021

  • Eternals - November 5, 2021

  • Spider-Man: No Way Home - December 17, 2021

  • Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness - March 25, 2022

  • Thor: Love and Thunder - May 6, 2022

  • Black Panther: Wakanda Forever - July 8, 2022

  • The Marvels - November 11, 2022

  • Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania - February 17, 2023

  • Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 - May 5, 2023

The trailer then closes with a tease of the Fantastic Four logo, some more scenes from the first three movies, and a nice "SEE YOU AT THE MOVIES."

The Marvels is the next Captain Marvel movie, and will also feature the Kamala Khan version of Ms. Marvel.

We are only shown scenes from the first three movies, the rest just get title cards with release dates.

Notably absent is any mention of a new Avengers movie, the X-Men, or even an overarching storyline for Phase 4.

My takeaways are:

1) Marvel seems committed to new theatrical releases. Good!

2) Eternals is reminding me of Inhumans in all the wrong ways.

3) If you want to see the new Big Bad, you should probably stay for the credits for Black Widow.
