This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Who is Cthulu?  Do you mean that literally or is that another nickname I'm missing?

Quite literally.  As in "Call of Cthulhu".  H.P. Lovecraft.  Ole "tentacle face" himself.

If he's on the ticket, don't you have to vote for him?

Using Cthulhu as the write-in candidate is a moral and ethical imperitive.

Well, I didn't mean literal arms. That's just suicide at this point.

Apart from gasoline and food, it hasn't affected me much as of yet. But I'm not being dismissive. If it get much worse, it will hurt.

I drive a Toyota Matrix.  It costs me about $25 a week to fill up.

My wife drives a GMC Suburban.  She takes it out about once a week.  It costs me about $100 to fill that tank up once a month.

So, my "footprint" is about $200 a month in gas.

(And, for the record, with six kids, the Suburban is NOT a status symbol.  It's a necessity.  It's a 1999 and I got it used--with problems--and about 110,000 miles on it.)

I have a Honda Odyssey for the same reason. Gets decent mileage, but still...

I work 7 days a week and have to drive 45 miles to work and then from work. My gas budget right now is $270 a month, but I'm increasing it to $360 with the speculation that gas will go up to $4 a gallon.
"Meh."

Got you both beat in one way - I walk to work....and this past week I had to walk to work with that blizzard we had. I live close enough to work that it doesn't make sense to drive there.

I have this huge commute of...umm...well...4 miles each way. My apologies to all of you with long commutes.  For years I had a two hour each way commute, so I did my time.

This spring I'm going to start riding my bike...see how that goes.  Then my gas usage will be limited to my wife's errands and the occasional trip to Michigan, Indy, or vacations.
