So I'm listening to VH1 Radio's new Wave station, and this song comes on, and it's all synths and Visage-y and awesome and I'm, like, 'Holy crap, who's this?" and I look and
FUCK A DUCK It"S KELLY OSBOURNE.
THE WORLD IS BREAKING!
No, seriously. This song is what it sounds like inside my head. Yes, it's a total rip-off of "Fade To Grey" (completely, in fact -- it's like a twin). That's not important. What is important is that I listen to it and I'm on a rainy street in Mexico City on a misty, grey evening in the Summer of 1983 all over again and I'm so damn happy there.
It's like what happened when a bunch of people I knew 1st listened to Toxic.
"Hey! That's got a nice beat!"
"It's Britney Spears."
"Huh? AAAARRRRGH!!!! (Heads explode)"
I'm guessing that's "One Word", just YouTube'd it. Very cool. Looks and sounds like the theme to a "Cold Space" campaign.
If it's any comfort to you, Kelly probably didn't write or play any music. Just sang along.
Fuggin' pop music.
Damn, now I want to hear a "Fade to Grey" cover by Ozzy himself...

Proving that hiring the write people to make your music for you can make almost anybody sound good.

Oh, I know. It's just...so weird, to connect so mundane a pop star with so beautiful a song.

She's the Kate Bush of the current age! :mischief2:

I would rather hear his Staying Alive cover :D

I wonder how many times "Fade to Grey" was mentioned during the production of this song. :)

Dunno, I'm at work.
Dude. This song is badass.
There's like, shades of old demo tunes on the C64 in the synth work.
And the video's brilliant.
Whoever she's hiring with her daddy's money was worth every penny. This shit's awesome. I want more. I want to know who her DJ is.
EDIT: Holy shit. Linda Perry was the producer. Awesome.
Yeah, kreg, that's it.
I don't get the video, but it's good; not at all what I pictured, obviously. But it's got a nice Dark City thing goin'.

The "4 non blondes" scarecrow? "What's going on" makes me want to kill people and/or run away with the first few notes...

Echoed. WTF^2!
Her Wikipedia page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linda_Perry) calls Courtney Love a "rock legend". The list of people she wrote songs for reads like a Who's Who of what's wrong with pop nowadays.
Linda Perry is an amazing songwriter.
She wrote the song "Beautiful" which singlehandedly made me a Christina Aguilera fan. :) Shut up, that song rules.
The synths are all analog. I didn't hear anything C64 in there really, but there may have been a Sidstation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elektron_SidStation) somewhere in the mix. It sounded really analog 80s era synth for sure, even the drums.
I like it.
And it has now officially supplanted "Crazy" in the category of "Song I seem to have a biological craving to listen to over and over again."
Dude, I musta listened to it 10, 12 times in a row on Monday night.
Yes, Linda Perry effectively slapped a shhet of tracing paper over "Fade To Grey" and went Flair-loco on it. *shrug* It came out pretty good.

Yeah, Kiri Te Kenawa and Pavarotti don't write or play the stuff they sing either. Posers.
