This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: Ian AbsentiaYou know, when my son tries working the "But he did it too!" defense, I tell him, "But we're not talking about him, are we?  We're talking about you."  It's embarrassing to see a (presumably) grown man falling back on it.  Maybe my son should start claiming a double-standard when not everyone gets into an equal amount of trouble as he does.

Wait a minute - how is what I said calling "he did it too!" defense?  I mean, seriously, did I defend Koltar?  Nope. Did I say Koltar was right because Kyle is an ass too? Can't find that part. In fact, if you look at my last post, I specifically called it a rightful chastisement of Koltar. Or did you miss that part?

It's more like a family counselor you go to to find out why your son is so confrontational and having them report back it's because you were a shit-head to him while you treated your other son like a prince.

Or maybe where you're from you never consider that you might be wrong - hey wait - you're an American!

You almost had me going there Ian....nice one!

Wow, walker.  That's pretty deep. Not a sweeping generalization of Americans or anything. You've successfully extrapolated my petty differences with Ian into Global Political Truth. And in an ironic fashion, to boot. Fantastic!

Dude, you come on a thread that has nothing to do with America and start complaining how nobody criticizes America-bashing.  Which is not only wrong, but totally irrelevant and suggests to me that you are wandering around the internet looking for reasons to get all defensive and resentful, a very fitting metaphor for a nation losing the grip on its global power base, wandering around the world looking for reasons to attack other people.

If you want to be a leader, start acting like one.

You know walkerp, if you want to stay up on your high horse I'd suggest getting some oxygen gear because this fucked up metaphor of yours is a good demonstration of hypoxia effects.

I mean its not like you haven't previously claimed that your primary purpose on this forum is Revenge!! or anything.
"Meh."

The bit about wondering why there wasn't equal time for bashing on countries other than the US.  Boo-hoo. Even though the issue wasn't about the US in particular.  Boo-hoo-hoo.

By the way, regarding the quote from Hamlet, I missed the "I know you are, but what am I?" defense, too.

Hey look it's the other half of the irrelevancy twins!  Are you going to go help put Skach's head back on after I pwned him.  :haw: :haw:  (that's my Nelson laugh, btw)

I think this thread started out on the ramp at least.

Quote from: Ian AbsentiaAs for your Japanese language- and culture-loving friends who preside forth from afar on Japanese panty-fetishism, I have actual Japanese friends and relatives who'd gladly take issue with that stereotype.
Yeah, see, I get it.  You've got relatives who are Japanese.  It sucks when someone comes in and says "Look how badly Japanese men treat their women - they have to hide themselves as vending machines!"

It's stupid - I mean, everyone knows it's better to hide yourself as a sasquatch.

But that's besides the point. You got all offended because Ed said something about your relatives. And rightly so.

But then we get the Koltar pile-on from folks like walker:
Quote from: walkerpAnd Koltar, you really did make an amazingly sweeping assumption about a class of people you know next to nothing about, based on a single exported product.
This from a guy who once said all d20 players were narrow minded.

And then droog with the with the slam dunk Nacirema link to officially drag the US into it. Or did nobody realize that was the purpose of the link.  I mean, droog did as he brought up George Washington.

So I'm just saying.

And boy did the defensive-meter shoot up. I mean, a link would have been sufficient.  I guess I'll just have to take the anger and scorn as a true sign of steadfastness. Thanks!

If you weren't being such a knee-jerking nationalistic crybaby, you'd realise that the Nacirema article applies equally to all Western societies (and possibly to Japan as well).

Obviously, I brought up George Washington because you started quivering your lip.

And that'd be the "I'm rubber, you're glue" defense.

You came in and tried to derail an argument to your agenda, like you do so often.  You got called to the floor for it.  Take your lumps like a man, you big crybaby.
