That thread drifted into squirrel talk and this one drifted into vaginas and talk of soliciting hookers for Koltar.  I think that pretty much sums up the differences in the two forums.
I have to admit that IMO it was a pretty civilized discussion of this board by the TBP crowd, with the exception of those bizarre attempts to psychoanalyze Kyle/JimBob.

That's a horrible slander on a woman who does a lot of good work for charity, I assume.

I think the bigger issue is that he uses his status as a "professor" to try to claim that his academic expertise gives him some kind of bigger insight into RPGs than the average person.
When you figure out that his "expertise" is on the penises of rodents, that claim pretty well is shown for the stupidity it really is. I'm sure he's an ok biologist (an acquaintance of mine who is a biologist and read Edwards academic works described him as "mediocre") but it in no way holds an relevance to his ability to comment on RPGs, and it certainly doesn't mean that what the Forge does is academic.
