This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Well the S.O. is away and the one area we don't totally share movie tastes is in the old black and white films.  So I went on a hunt for some well-regarded noir movies.  Did not find The Scar/Hollow Triumph or The Reckless Moment, but did score Detour and Kitten With a Whip.  I'm very psyched about this last one.  Ann-Margret in 1967.  Hell yes.  And check out the plot summary:

QuoteJody (Ann-Margret), a juvenile delinquent, escapes from reform school by stabbing a matron and attempting to burn down the building and then takes refuge in a house owned by an ambitious politician David Patton (John Forsythe).

I also got the second Hammer Frankenstein, The Revenge of Frankenstein.  We'll see if I can consume three tonight.  Might be a bit of a stretch.

If you ever get another night like this, you should check out these films.

Suddenly : http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0047542/

Seconds : http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0060955/

And of course Touch of Evil : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Touch_of_Evil

Murder My Sweet adapted from Chandler's Novel Farewell my Lovely (largely regarded as his best) rocks. The guy playing Marlowe (Dick Powell) gets it without hamming it up.
You are posting in a troll thread.

I recently found a really cheap DVD of D.O.A.  Decent noir film (acting is "eh," but the movie is very fun) that's worth checking out.
For fuck\'s sake, these are games, people.

And no one gives a fuck about your ignore list.

Thanks for the recs, guys.  Seen all those except for D.O.A., which is on my list.

Kitten with a Whip was awesome.  Ann-Margret was fantastic and the beatnik badguys were hilarious, menacing, philosophical hipster thugs.  Strongly recommended.  I can't believe this movie got MST3K'ed.

Detour was a bit disappointing.  I enjoyed it overall but the guy was such a chump. And he just takes so much abuse.  It was actually kind of interesting like that.  You saw how somebody could really become down and out.  Both these movies were quite similar in theme actually, about how a crazy chick can come into your life and completely screw you over.
