This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Not computer spam, but the food. Had some fun with prior ramen threads here and here. So I thought why not?

Anyone got any recipes for making this shit tolerable?

Pan-fried, man ... it's the way to go.  Reasonably thin slices, then crisp it way more than you think it needs ... to the point where it's more like bacon then like ... well ... spam.   For full effect, to my way of thinking, it should be done over a campfire after a day of hiking, but that's getting fussy.

I really cannot conceive of eating the stuff straight out of the can, though I've heard that people do.  I just ... geh.  My imaginary taste buds rebel at even trying to form a taste-image.

My wife has a good recipe for a dip made with it, but I couldn't begin to tell you what's in it.

Best recipe for spam.

Buy some spam.
Go to a chippy.
Buy cod and chips.
Eat the cod and chips.
Throw away the spam.

And its a really versatile recipe.  You could replace the cod and chips with just about anything else really,  as long as it's not spam.

Or marmite.

Hawaii (and, I'm told, most of the rest of the Pacific Islands) has made Spam cookery into an artform.  You can get Spam in restaurants, eat Spam teriyaki at family get togethers, munch Spam musubi inbetween classes...

Spam consumption is blamed for a big chunk of the upsurge in Pacific Islander obesity and diabetes.
