This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

That really was kind of a sweet spot for Ashley Judd, wasn't it?

Tales of the Gold Monkey! I loved it when I was a... shit, I can't remember. But I remember I liked it a lot. I'd love to watch it again.

I came across this thread while searching for a Tales of the Gold Monkey RPG. I have fond memories of this show as a kid, and recently managed to watch a few episodes which, as One Horse Town says, are even better now 28 years (!!) later.

I gone so far as to put Jake Cutter together as a Savage Worlds character and am currently playing through a solo adventure with the Mythic GM Emulator. Great fun so far. Its a great source material.

Any suggestions for similar 1938 Pacific pre-World War RPGs? Preferably with flying boats!

Hollow Earth Expedition captures the pulp feel pretty well.  I hear a lot about Savage Worlds, but from what I can tell, it is a bit too rules-lite, story-based for me.  Others here have a good deal more experience than I, they can enlighten you as to the details.
