This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Brendan Fraser as Flash Gordon.

Well?  Should I write the script and get the money?

EDIT: Wait.  Stephen Sommers has the rights.  No screenplay yet, though....hmmm...

Are we talking a remake of the 80's-era gem or an entirely new project?

Stephen Sommers is slated to make a new Flash Gordon movie.
He was the guy who directed The Mummy.
Brendan Fraser was the lead in The Mummy.

You might get your wish.

My wish is to write, produce and direct, but....hey, I'll take what I can get.

Jeff -- I'm talking refurbishing, man.  Start with the classic comics and serials, take the best elements of everything along the way, turn that mofo up to 10.75 and see where we end up.

Saving 0.25 for the sequel, eh?  Very clever.

I just hope they don't fuck up the Zarkov casting. The rest is easy-peasey.

Brendan Frasier - under-rated?

I particularly enjoyed him in "Blast From the Past".

No, I think Brendan Fraser is perfectly rated, neither over nor under.  Encino Man and that one movie where the girl from Austin Powers played the devil have both shown us where he belongs in the canon of mediocre comedic actors.

I have to say, Brendan Frasier would indeed make the perfect Flash Gordon.

I'd also make Angelina Jolie as Ming's psychotic daughter.

What's wrong with Italian hotties? It worked in the Queen movie...

Monica Belluci. The Jolie for grown-ups.
