Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

So, I finished my column, and submitted it by the date present, and instead of hearing back from the editor I'd been speaking to, I get an email from the food critic which says she's taking over responsibility for my column.

So I send her a copy as well, and then get two emails back from her, within an hour of each other.  The first tells me they only have room in the next issue for 300 words, and could I cut it down some (largely not bloody likely without a total rewrite given it's an 1100 word piece).  The second tells me that she will not in fact be in charge of my column, and that it's been put back in the editor's hands.

Oh, and of course, this food critic woman is the same one I mercilessly criticized in the letter that brought me to the attention of the editor in the first place.

I honestly don't know what the fuck is going on with it right now, seems like some kind of weird internal politics or something.

Is this a local newspaper? With respect to an editor slicing and dicing your copy, get used to it. If they need space to place an ad, then good-bye editorial copy. Still, cutting out 800 words seems a bit harsh. I'm surprised they didn't give you a ballpark word count.
