This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Spoilers that aren't 'spoilers'.

I just posted some of therse on the Orange & Fluffy.

With the new STAR TREK movie  some people might to babble - DON'T.

Wait til like next Wednesday or Thursday.

Here are are examples of how to talk or 'spoil'  a movie or show without really spoiling anything:

QuoteExamples :

End of STAR WARS chapter V: THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK....

"It ends with a coiuple of people and some robots looking out a window."

End of STAR TREK II: The WRATH OF KHAN...

"It ends with Jame T. Kirk on the bridge standing next to a woman and he's smiling. " pauses "Oh yeah The Enterprise is near a planet , then it zooms away."

End of the modern BATTLESTAR GALACTICA...

"It ends with some bearded guy browsing at a magazine."
(No I'm not kidding about that ....)

End of THE CRYING GAME....

A Guy in prison gets a visit from a friend"

End of MATRIX REVOLUTIONS....

"Two people sit on a park bench tallking."

This might make a fun game.

End of CASABLANCA .....

"Two people get on a plane. Two other people walk off into the distance chatting"

The end of Citizen Kane:
He's talking about his stupid childhood sled.

I'm doing this wrong, I think.

Yes that was the wrong way .

Try this :

"A bunch of workmen are moving stuff to a truck."

Still true  - but doesn't ruin the movie.

This is hard because when I talk about movies I find it hard not to dig into the meaning behind things which inevitably gives too much away.  Here are my attempts at a few of my favorite films.

Oldboy
Two people live happily ever after.

Big Lebowski
They go bowling.

Big Trouble in Little China
A guy drives a truck.
"A thousand fathers killed, a thousand virgin daughters spread, with swords still wet, with swords still wet, with the blood of their dead." - Protest the Hero

So his character isn't written out then?  He lives?

Avoiding spoilers is harder than you might think, if you give any info at all.

Agent Dunham is a "She", not a "He" - ever since the first episode.

Her name is Olivia Dunham - played by Anna Torv.
Her existence and Gender doesn't "ruin" anything, even if you just saw the pilot episode.
