This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I think part of the problem is that all of us are pretty competent gamers and have thought about it a lot.  So when it comes to the kind of non "political" things that you would prefer to see more of Serious Paul, there isn't as much to be said.  Whereas with industry gossip, evidence-free speculation and general bitching and fighting, us humans can do those things forever.

I think your point is well taken though. I spent a lot of time blathering on about 4e even though I will probably never play it and it won't impact my gaming life in any real direct way.  A friend once told me that it is a good goal to try and talk about stuff more and people less.  I think that's kind of what you are saying here.

I think I get what you're saying James. And now cake and sodomy. C'mere Pseudoephedrine!

I love you too, SP.

Hey, how are those Shadowrun books you bought holding up, anyhow? You evidently bought a huge shitload of them off an IRL buddy of mine a few years back. Now he's jonesing for SR, but he's unwilling to pick up the new edition because it's supposed to be shit and he sold you all his old books, so you'd better be enjoying them, since you're indirectly denying me the ability to fire a rapid-fire railgun through an elemental's midsection

Really? Small world. I'm not sure who you're referring to, since for a while there I was snagging everything SR3 related so I had triplicates of everything. (My players are lazy poor gits!) But all of my books-except the ones Andy stole! You fucking bastard! Unjoin the Army and bring my Tir books back!-are sitting on the shelf in front of me.

Actually we're doing an awesome one shot this coming Thursday. I'll be posting up a bunch of stuff about later this weekend.

Quote from: Serious PaulI am a bit sick of people who think that just because they post a few more times in the RPG section than other users that they're something special. (Yes, I know. Just think of this as cathartic for me, okay?)

Is this a dig at Kyle Aaron? Because if it is I'll have you know that he doesn't practice what he preaches and often posts in the off topic forum as well.;)

So atheists have been abused, treated badly by clergy or they\'re stupid.They\'re just being trendy because they can\'t understand The God Delusion because they don\'t have the education, plus they\'re just pretending to be atheists anyway. Pundit you\'re the one with a problem, terminal stupidity.

I never said no-one should post in Off-Topic, just that it should not be a Tangency-style focus of the site, since it is after all therpgsite.

I try to make sure that my roleplaying-related posts are more than half of all my posts. It's a bit like in a game session - I want us to spend more than half of the time gaming.

There is a saying among my people: "If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself."

In order to see the kind of RPG Section (or anything else) you want...you'd have to create it. By posting. The kind of topics you want. To read and talk about.
