So, as you may or may not know, every ENnies nominee needs to pick out music. If they win, a 10-15 second snippet of this music plays when they get their award when its announced at the ceremony. Sometimes the selections are funny, sometimes they're good, and sometimes they're bad.
Example of a bad choice: About 3 years ago, Green Ronin played the Black-Eyed Peas "Pump It", leading eventually not only to my insanity, but to the whitest group of people on earth attempting to clap along with it. The worst part is that they won roughly 3,561 awards that night, meaning I heard that snippet 3,561 times.
Example of a good choice: I can't remember if it was Privateer or Paizo last year that had the Pirates of the Carribean theme. It seemed fitting, and I like it anyways.
So a few of my gaming buddies and I were talking about this, and tried to come up with songs for the various gaming companies. Nominees, if you have a song picked out, lay it on us. Everyone else, let's fill in the blanks. Be funny, be snarky, whatever--have fun with it.
Here's a few suggestions we came up with:
Kenzer-Theme From The Good The Bad, & The Ugly (for Aces & Eights)
Paizo-We're Not Gonna Take It, Twisted Sister
HinterWelt-Bill, we couldn't decide on the theme from Rome (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXSRvjJptQQ) or this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5CJ913bXCLU).
Crafty Games-James Bond Theme (natch)
Dark Matter-Well, we figured Epic should have something, well...Epic...but are stymied thus far. A little help, please?
Precis Intermedia-We picked Green Hornet (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zi3kFAeAN_0), as it played during our Two-Fisted Tales sessions, and seemed fitting.
That's as far as we got, because we do sometimes have paying jobs. We have our podcasters, our fansites, Mongoose, Green Ronin, Atlas Games, WotC, and a crapload more (http://www.ennieawards.com/08/08noms.pdf). Let's get to it!

Maybe Orff's "O Fortuna", Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries" or Strauss' "Thus Spoke Zarathustra"? All three have been done and bear various connotations, but something classical and a bit bombastic is what would seem to me most epic instinctively.
Some more stupid ideas that popped up in my mind: :D
- WotC: Tears for Fears - Everybody wants to rule the world
- WW: dunno, but must be pretentious, "dark" and/or be associated with the gothic sub-culture, preferable all three
- Wandering Geek: Weird Al Yankovich - White&Nerdy; especially from the part where Weird Al drives through the park with his strange vehicle. (Then again, to which entry
wouldn't that song fit?)
- Catalyst Game Labs: Main theme of the old SNES Shadowrun game. (I wouldn't know
anything else for Shadowrun, which is the only game line that is entered from them. Except maybe the theme of the Genesis version, but the soundtrack there is even worse.)
Ooh, you want epic for Epic? How about this?

For those who don't want to click the link, it's The Touch, an 80's rock ballad from Transformers the Movie (the original).
Secret squirrel really fits. On top of it all, Linda and I were talking about writing a secret squirrel adventure.
Linda likes the theme to Conan but admits it is not very topical.

I'm not going to say who, but one of the submitting publishers requested that song.

Hellz yeah.
I'm sorry, Zach. But this is more of an off-topic kind of subject. Peripheral stuff associated with the Ennies but not otherwise about roleplaying belongs either in the "promote your store and/or event" thread, or in Off-topic.

Hey, no prob. Whatever you feel's best. No worries.
Hmm....Epic music... "is O Fortuna" overrused, though?

That is totally awesome!
Stan Bush would be teh awesome!
My name is Kent and I love this thread. I think we actually submitted something different, but a piece of music that always makes me think of Epic (possibly because we use it so much when we play), is this, starting at around 0:38.

Of course the NFL stole it from us, but that commercial was pretty raw and powerful and Epic so I can still go along with that. :D
Really Kent?
I mean, I love the music, but sooooo cheesetastic.

Yeah, I love it, because it matches your face!
Mongoose Traveller should just use this video presentation (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1iWehLi_4ug) instead.
