This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Okay, I read this and thought it was VERY Cool.

Almost a whole city's infra structure gets together to 'roleplay' with one 13 year old kid thats wanted to be a Super hero:

Has to one of the most elaborate Make-A-Wish scenes ever.

I have to say first, this would have sounded lame to me had I been that age. But of course, by 13, I would not have wished to be a superhero; if I were 13 and dying, I'd have wished to get laid.

I wonder how many times the Make A Wish Foundation has helped with that  dying wish?

Probably the times they don't tell the press about it.

I think there was a curb your enthusiasm episode that dealt with this. Or something very close to it.

That one I never saw - because I cancelled my HBO right around the time that "The SOPRANOS" ended its run a few years ago. Money is/was getting tight. (Economy sucks & all that jazz)

I still like the story linked to in my OP .

Might make an interesting premise - a kid's dying wish is to be a super hero, so everyone gets together and plays along... and the kid starts actually exhibiting powers. Answer to a prayer, the power of collective thinking, or something else?

Good thing they left out what happened at the end of the day when Electron Boy was served with cease and desist papers by Marvel for copyright infringement.
