Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). 'Conan' painting by late Pa. artist goes for $1.5M

Wow, it is awesome that some classic fantasy artwork is being sold for that much money. Geek stuff really is mainstream now with our advancing generation.
"Meh."

Seems like the global crisis is being nice to some folks, if they can waste that much money on a bit of pigments on a processed cellulose sheet.

I love Frazetta, but this is just ridiculous. And if they want to waste money couldn't they have paid 1.5M to the artist when he actually was, well...alive?

No artist is truly appreciated while still alive.

How true, if I ever become a famous artist I will remember to fake my own death.

I am very happy that I visited the Frazetta Museum a few years ago, before he died, before his son took a back-hoe to the door, and before they started selling off these iconic paintings.  They are even more amazing up close than in reproductions.
