It's that time again!

So I just finished watching the season finale of The Shield, and since I don't know if all of you have seen it yet I'll try not to spoil it. Let's just say I think it was a decent way to end the show, and not entirely unexpected, although I think I'd have made a few changes.

A lot of people have debated over the years how authentic the show is, and what message it's trying to send, but I've put that all aside and just enjoyed the show for what it is: a soap opera for men! All in all I think the show did good, and I like shows that come to an end-not everything should run forever, but I do think the Shield lost some steam midway. Luckily the last season picked it back up.

So what else is out there? What else are you watching? What should we watch? I am currently moving onto Robot Chicken, which is funny enough, but eventually I'll need some more serious stuff.

I know this is also midseason, so many shows like Lost, Smallville, BSG,etc... are on break.

The only show that I watched this season reguarly and followed was Sons of Anarchy by FX.  It has a great cast; Ron Pearlman, Katey Sagal, Kim Coates, Tommy Flannagan, etc.  It's essentially a soap opera for men as well.

Katey Sagal is frackin' hot as the badass biker moma of SAMCRO.  The lead actor, Charlie Hunnam, is great.  I haven't seen him in anything else, but he's good in this role.

SoA was great, and in my opinion decently realistic. Even if it had been a complete flight of fancy I like how the cast held up, and the internal consistency of that "Universe". I'm wondering how long they can old onto the cast, especially Pearlman.

Well, they have really set up the second season to revolve around the civil war in the club.  Clay, Tig, and Gemma have to pay for their sins.  It should be an interesting second season.  I don't know how many seasons that they can milk this story; maybe three.  However, I don't see this show having that many seasons, which is fine in of itself.  I appreciate it much more when the creators know that they've reached the limit of the story line and just end it gracefully, rather than shows that produce crap episodes and seasons just to bilk the consumers.

I agree completely.

I'm currently enjoying Life, about wrongly convicted then vindicated detective Charlie Crews (Damien Lewis), who sues his way back onto the force and uses his position to uncover the conspiracy that sent him to prison, and tries (with varying success) to apply poorly understood Zen concepts to his dysfunctional personal life.  It's funny and off-beat, with interesting cases and great supporting characters, including Adam Arakin and Donal Logue.

There's really not much on right now, it being winter and all.  I think they know half the country is stuck inside by cold weather at night, so they just show reruns.  The jerks.

I'm waiting for next seasons of Dexter, Weeds and Entourage.

I really like the actor Tim Roth, and his new show, Lie to Me, on Fox looks like it might be good.  I am going to give a shot, and see how the first few episodes pan out.

Dexter picked up really well at the end of season, I thought.

Another vote for Dexter here, as well as (God help me) Fringe and I'm seriously enjoying Burn Notice via Hulu.com.

I certainly enjoyed Battlestar Galactica during the first three seasons in its normal run, but I'll just wait 'till I get all the seasons on DVD rather than have to deal with the way they decided to parcel it out on the tube.

Cartoon-wise, I'm all up on Chowder as well as The Clone Wars with whatever else I can work into the mix.

Otherwise, that is about it for me and TV with the exception of any number of Sci-Fi Network monster movies which are on if I'm working about the house.
I start from his boots and work my way up. It takes a good half a roll to encompass his jolly round belly alone. Soon, Father Christmas is completely wrapped in clingfilm. It is not quite so good as wrapping Roy but it is enjoyable nonetheless and is certainly a feather in my cap.

Try to get your hands on Life on Mars (BBC One) and it's sequel Ashes to Ashes.

Edit: Also try to get the BBC/BBC America six parter The State Within.
