This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Cool!! Very Cool!! (anyone on Myspace?)
« on: December 06, 2007, 11:52:24 pm »
So...months , upon months ago a friend of mine talked me into signing up for Myspace.

 I did .

Not the greatest thing in the world. - but kind of interesting at times. I did manage to re-connect with a "little Sister" of mine because of it.

Here is the Cool!! Part. :

At least 2 or 3 times a week there are onbvious phising "SPAM" kind of names that send friend requests. These people spot that I have a male first name - so all these mock friend requests show up hoping that I'm gullible enough tro click on certain parts of the message . (Forget it Tom Generic guy, I ain't doing that)

Then one that seems "REAL" shows up - because in the profile she says her hometown is Cincinnati .

 Read some of the details.

Her handle is actually creative and not generic....

Then I notice a few other details - she's into gaming and costuming,  LIGHT BULB goes off!! This person used to shop at my game store !!! ITs Tehana !! ....from various gaming forums. (big Purple is one...)

Kind of cool  to get a friend request from someone I actually know.

I had to switch to facebook. Just a better interface, but I agree it is very cool. Within a couple of days of signing up I reconnected with one of my ex-girlfrends from college. So that was really kinda cool.
Download Secret Santicore! (10MB). I painted the cover :)

I obviously am on MySpace. I think it's fun, something to do with my spare time. Plus, I'm always trying to be the center of attention and putting crazy things up on my page is one way to draw attention to myself.

I got a myspace so I'd understand how it worked. My eldest is turning 10, and hes going to want to start doing that shit soon.

I do use it sometimes. Last time was when I went to Dragon*Con, I think.

You might be thinking of the longer handled skillets popular today, but I learned on one handed skillets (good for building the forearm and wrist strength!).  Of course, for spicing while you beat,

I created a MySpace page earlier this year, but haven't done anything with it in months.  I do stuff on my Facebook page daily, though.

I do have a MySpace, but I use it to keep in touch with only one person. I use my MySpace for my WoD character more...

I have a Xanga. I use it pretty often.
God in the Machine.

Here's my website. It's defunct, but there's gaming stuff on it. Much of it's missing. Sorry.

I've got a blog. Do you read other people's blogs? I dunno. You can say hi if you want, though, I don't mind company. It's not all gaming, though; you run the risk of running into my RL shit.

I have a my space and so far it helps keep me intouch with some friends and realtives that live too far away to visit.

A couple weeks ago I was contacted by one of my long lost brother through Myspace and that was a pleasant surprise.

I used it to track down the silly twist who bought my old car, but hadn't transferred the title to her name, and was racking up a mess of towing and impound fees.  After that, I found that a number of old friends' bands kept pages on MySpace Music.
