Maybe you guys can help.

There was a song , maybe 7 to 9 years ago. All I can remember is parts of the chorus and that the video was pretty lively, colorful and don in a studio.

The lines I remember are:

Take it to the bridge
See if it can swim...
...and the lines are down.

Think somewhere in the song the lead singer said: "Think that I'm falling" or "Sometimes I feel like I'm falling"

Possibly "Hourglass" by Squeeze.

I never heard the song afaik but Google helped with the lyrics you supplied. Video has a definite Magritte thing going on.

EDIT: Ah, I have heard it--I don't have a good memory for lyrics and I was just now watching the video without sound. The song's actually from the 80's and sounds pretty much of that era. Ah, yes, the same group did "Pulling Mussels from the Shell", which I think was a bigger hit.
