This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I'm now a dad!

Quote from: John MorrowOur first spept 4-6 hours a stretch from birth.  The nurses and doctors told us to wake her up every 2-3 hours to feed her.  They suggested a cold wet rag to startle her away.  Heck, I could touch her with an ice pack and she wouldn't wake up.  Of course when she did wake up, she'd feed constantly for hours to make up for it and my wife wound up needing carpel tunnel surgery from holding her to feed her (yes, I helped but I also had to go back to work).  She still sleeps through the night.  I can even change her, move her around, etc. and she'll still go back to sleep if she wakes up.  She also wakes up happy.  One of our friends says she hates us. ;)

That's why I fear the second one we're expecting.  I'm afraid she's going to be the opposite and we've been spoiled because the first one has been fairly easy so far.

Yeah, Isabelle is basically dead to the world when she sleeps. You can change her diaper and the whole bit and she doesn't wake up. Wish I could sleep like that. :D

Hope she stays that way.  It makes life a lot easier for the parents in many ways.  I slept like that as a baby, too.  I'm hoping our second one is like that, too.

Theo has taken up sleep walking. He will run out to the living room, down the stairs sometimes crying the whole way. We run out to get him but the little bugger is so fast that he often makes it all the way to the front door before we can stop him.

Considering my sleep disorders though...it could be worse. ;)

Do you play to win or are you just a bad loser?

Well, she still wakes up every 2-3 hours to feed but when she is asleep, she's out.

Not all kids sleep deeply and you'll hear people talking about creeping out of the room to keep their baby from waking up once they go to sleep.  It's nice to be able to move the baby, change the baby, talk in front of the baby, etc. without them waking up.  Not every parent is that lucky.  And your daughter should sleep longer and longer at night when she gets older.
