well there lil thread seems to be working against them abit as it made me interested in checking out the so called "hive of scum and villainy" for myself lol and by the looks of things i wasnt alone

I don't know, I did it nonetheless. Sometimes I'm tired of seeing certain misconceptions about therpgsite uncontested. This site is not perfect, and there are things I don't like here (like the overwankery about D&D), but it's not as bad as some people want to make believe.

EDIT: And there's something else I can forgive you. How could you let the thread about A Song of Ice and Fire RPG (the one by Green Ronin) sink? Aren't you excited? Don't you like the novels?

It sunk because it seems that we've already discussed what we could in the current stage. The noble house preview from 7th July is yet the most recent official contribution, and even the official forums have become quite quiet.

I guess it will get more lively or spawn sub-threads when something actually happens, like another preview or some official clarifications about rule issues in the quick-start game.
(I assume that you talk about the thread here. I have no clue if and to which extent SIFRPG got and gets discussed on TBP.)

Yeah, it's true, that thread sank because there aren't enough people interested in discussing SIFRPG, especially when it hasn't been released yet. This isn't a big forum, and SIFRPG won't be the next D&D, very probably it won't be the next MERP or the next RuneQuest. Maybe I'll look for it and post something.

It's funny that we're derailing a thread in Off Topic to talk about an RPG.

And there we have it folks, just as predicted: the thread was making theRPGsite sound too attractive, and demonstrating results in people going there, and the Mods felt it was failing at propagandizing theRPGsite as a shithole, so of course, they locked it.

Darren's little threat to lock it earlier was the signal that unless it very quickly turned into an opportunity to ban RPGsite-supporters or to have a more unbalanced shitting-on of theRPGsite, the mods would have to shut it down, and they did.

Like they always do when the truth is winning out.

You got me all worried that I used the wrong phrase, so I Googled "my ears are ringing" and "my ears are burning" and got billions of medical results. So then I Googled "when someone is talking about you your ears", which I thought was a little heavy-handed but it did the results I was looking for. It looks like a 50/50 split between the two in common use.

Either way, I like your alternative.
