Wow..does that explain a lot about chuckles :p

Bears - the only team that matters, really.  I mean the Colts are great and all - I like them, in fact.  Nothing would make me happier than to see the Bears beat the Colts in the Next Superbowl.

It will be an interesting year.  I think the Bears are in for a let down early.  I'll look at the schedule and see, but the way they are talking...I don't know...they seem a little too confident.  I mean, not every team is from Green Bay...

God I love the rivalries in sports...

Seems like we might be genetically predisposed to dislike one another ;)

But really, what team does well the year after losing the superbowl?  Unless the bears become the new Bills, that would be awesome.

Bring it, cheese boy...and see what a world of pain feels like ;)

No, if you read my post, I said beat the Colts next year.

I've said to my Colts-fan brother-in-law that I think it would be great to have the Bears and Colts in the next few Superbowls going back and forth.  It could build a rivalry, but not the kind we have with Green Bay where the hatred is almost palpable at times (or go to a Cubs/Sox game and watch the fights!). But an old school wow these teams really compete at a different level because of the return to the biggest game kind of rivalry. Almost like New England and Indy - except it's at the right level and, well, who cares about New England?

The cities are close, so the fans will travel.  Chicago is a major media market and Indy gets the spotlight nationwide mostly a result of having the best QB in football - so the sponsors will all get their money's worth.  It's a win/win for everyone except those bastards in Green Bay and New England, and who gives a flying fuck about them?

Quote from: jeff37923Ah, at least I can say that we didn't have as embarrassing a loss as did Michigan State. Ouch!
University of Michigan, dont you? As Michigan lost to Nobody, I mean Applalachian State. (No, I might mean nobody.) 34 to 32. While Michigan State spanked UAB 18 to 55.

My brother in law (the Colts fan) is also an Notre Dame alum.  I was at teh game on Saturday out of a sense of family obligation (to keep peace) even though I grew up hating ND.

Saturday was one of those days when the planets align.  Notre Dame loses (and I get to watch it), Michigan loses to App State (are you fucking kidding me?), and the Cubs win.  All was right with the world....wait, what did the White Sox do?

Gunslinger

Breaking tradition of my entire family and most of my friends who love the hometown Steelers, I'm a Raiders fan.  I started watching football during the Bo Jackson era and just kept with them.  I've been wanting to fly over and catch a game for a while now.

I do like the Bears, and root for them when they aren't playing the Colts.  I wouldn't mind seeing a few more Bears-Colts Superbowls.

And a bit off topic, but geez!  What happened to Michigan?  Could we see the shittiest ND/Michigan game of all time this year?  "The Battle for Fruit of the Loom Castrol Oxy Clean Bowl....eligibility".

What?

Do they still talk to you?

Man, I'm almost tempted to put you on my ignore list for that. :p

No...trust me.  Michigan will kill Notre Dame unless they somehow get that offensive line to work miracles in the interim.

And it couldn't make me happier - Michigan out of contention after one game and Notre Dame with a suck-ass team.

Bears/Colts Superbowl..I wonder what the line is on that...

Quietly optimistic.

Who am I kidding?

Romping and stomping all over the East Coast sports media bias!

@GoOrange: I'm sorry we dumped Trent on you guys. Even before the concussion, he was getting way skittish. He's replaced Daunte Culpepper as the master of the back-breaking 2nd half pick.

Speaking of Rex and the superbowl.  It makes me laugh, all the indy fans talking about how excited they would be for a bears/colts superbowl.

Sometimes you just gotta laugh to keep yourself from crying...

How are the Packers this year?  I haven't been watching preseason much (like's been to crazy), but it looked like early in training camp the sports media was talkinag about how they had better receivers this year which would help them immensely.

We have Donald Driver, he got a little banged up, and then are 2nd and 3rd reciever have 1 year of experience between the two of them.  Dig the knife a little bit more, ask about Running Backs why don't you. ;)
