I've heard of this creature before, but having actually listened to the drivel she spouts I have to ask, beyond any other professional idiot i've ever seen, is she a troll? Surely noone's this fucking stupid?

Oh and she's not a "creature" . She's a human being that writes and has opinions that you probably disagree with.

She is not a 'troll' - the comments you refer are usually her extreme attempts at humor, puns, and zingers.  Some don't always suceed , but some of her comments are damn funny and one feels bad for laughing.
I think whats going on here is that people are so used to political humor anmd sarcxastic commenmts cominmg from the left for the past 30 years or so tjhat they get shocked when people on the so-called right doi the same sort of humor.
The left is so touchy and sensitive that they're not used to being the target of that kind opf humor . (Classic case of they can dish it out but they can't take it)

Oh, and by-the-way, Ms. Coulter is really good friends and they used to be romantically involved years ago. They disagree politically but are still good pals - and they get each other's sense of humor. They both go for shock comments anbd pretty often.

And yes, still had nothing to do with roleplaying.

No - you missed the point entirely

She is using humor to get her books noticed. (and to poke/taunt liberels/lefties who take themselves too seriously)

 Her writings ARE meant to be taken seriously.

Again, there was no reason for you to start the thread.

 Although a year or so ago, after Gygax died I read that Michelle Malkin used to play D&D when she was younger. Think she men tioned that in a column of hers where she said nice things about Gygax.

Well, I would say that depends on what specific comment, writing or raving you are pointing to.

I recently saw president Obama crack a joke about sicking those flying missile drone things on guys that might have less-than-honorable intentions towards his daughters.

Is that supposed to be taken seriously?

And if it isn't, does it mean that nothing president Obama says is supposed to be taken seriously?


To further illustrate this, off the moment I can remember two comments Coulter made on TV.

On one she advocated invading islamic countries, killing their leaders and converting the populations to christianity.

One another, dealing with the illegal immigrant issue, she suggested a paddy-wagon roundup of a mass of illegals that was there and then, making a protest march on the public streets, on broad day light.


FWIW here's my analysis of both:

The first is obviously a joke, as no one in their right mind would want America to engange in agressive theocratic conquest, but expresses the feeling that the West (and being European, and from a country that fought Islamic expansionism for well over 800 years I know what I am talking about), should get its act straight and stop bending over backwards for Islamo-fascism.

The second is meant to be taken very serious. If a criminal is seen strolling down the street, why the heck aren't the authorities not doing something about it, right now?


So, we have a "don't-take-so-seriously comment", and a "serious" one. That is why a thing called discernment is used for.

Since this has nothing to do with roleplaying (or inspiration) why the fuck did you start a thread about it here?
