I'm reading the series, about 1/3 through book 3. I enjoy it. Among other things, it has changed the way I look at feudalism and fealty in medieval Europe. But I am not a medieval historian, just a hobbyist. How true do you feel it is to the historical system of feudalism and court? What era does it map to in the real world? Would you suggest a more accurate representation of feudalism (fiction or nonfiction)?
