The leader narrows his eyes and lets out a low hiss, then clucks a bit in mirth.

"As you wish, hairlesss one. You may be able to take one or two of us before my archers cut you down," he gestures to the end of the hallway, where the six others have all drawn bows. Almost on cue, two more appear behind them with bows drawn as well. "Ssshall we conduct ourselves as civilized beings, or will have have naught but your corpses for our master to inspect?"

Thraim smiles and says in a cordial tone, "as long as we understand each other, cat-man. Our words have sand, as we are no pups. Mis-step with us and it will be a bloody day indeed. We will be civilized, and stand down when you stand down. Send your message, and we will wait. Although, we will not be disarmed nor detained as we are guests here."

Semina steps away from the wall, with her hands held out in front of her, as a gesture of non-aggression. She walks towards Thraim, gliding up behind his left side to chat in his ear for a moment.

"Thraim," she speaks softly to the irritated dwarf. "Maybe the ogre mistress can help identify these feline acquaintances? I could ask her to join us for a moment to verify their intentions, and maybe we can cool the situation."

Kagan nods to Semina and adds in a low voice. "It might be useful indeed."

I doubt these creatures will take the word of Janet Amber as well, Thraim thought to himself.

Without taking his eyes off the catman leader, Thraim says out loud so that everyone can hear it, "yes, perhaps Janet Amber will not take kindly to this treatment of her tea guests. Maybe we should bring her out here to clear this misunderstanding up?"

"Oh, yesss, let's bring her out here. Perhapss she is in one of her rare lucid moments and won't misstake you for a talking mushroom," the leader informs you as the others launch into another round of their disconcerting laughter. "We have had quite enough trouble from her to lasst a lifetime, thank you. If you wissh, you can wait with her until our masster comess to a decision, but we will not be ressponsible for your ssafety. Otherwise, you can retire to the sstudy with uss until you are summoned."

Semina steps out from behind Thraim, so she can address the cat-like leader. "How are we to trust that your master isn't as far gone as you have described his sister? Simply asking us to join you in your study can be either favorable or fatal," Semina lowers her hands by her sides.

"If it pleases you, then send a messenger quickly to your master, and I will talk with Janet to advise her of our situation. Leave some of your members in the hallway with the rest of my companions. If we must face off, then let us fight with honor." Semina looks into the commanders eyes awaiting his answer.

"I am sure you can see the problemsss with just lounging around the hallway, but my archers have you pretty well covered, so don't make any sudden moves," explains the commander. "If you wish to involve Jeanette, you are certainly welcome, but I will not support the disaster that is sure to become. I would alsso suggesst not going in there alone. By my reckoning, she is due for another... episssode." He curls his lips up in what you imagine to be a smile.

Thraim shrugs his shoulders in a nonchalant way and says, "I'm quite comfortable right here."

Kagan wonders out loud: "Episodes? Hmm. Are we going to pick up Jeanette?"

The half-orc ponders the possibilities, and if by the Gods, Chaos and Mayhem have to break, and Richard proves to be an unreasonable host, at least Jeanette could provide them with some needed diversion and cover.

Semina moves slowly around to Thraim's left side so she can speak quietly to the others. With her head bent down Semina asks, "Should I get the ogre to see if she can help? Either way, if she goes berserk we might be able to doge her and scatter the cat-men to our advantage."

OOC: If anyone wants to accompany Semina to the room, please let me know. Otherwise she will get the ogre's attention if possible, once everyone has spoken their concerns.

Snorri stands and maintains his posture with a slight smile.

OOC: I will be out of town for a week, so if stuff happens I authorise SB to pilot Snorri while I'm gone Should be back on or around the 22nd.

Semina once again lifts her hands in the air to show no signs of aggression. "I will knock upon Jeanette's door to invite her to join the standoff" Semina pauses, "if I am not bludgeoned to death, maybe we can come to an agreeable understanding."

Semina begins to walk gracefully over to the ogre's room, and carefully removes her hand axe for defensive purposes. Once there she will knock upon the door to get Jeanette's attention.
