Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

You want a snapshop of the hardcore RPG fan sector (because that's what forums are), consider a veiled analogy once volunteered by Paizo's Publisher Erik Mona.

One of many like it that turned me off.  But point well taken.

Quote from: GamerDude;479925Actually my friend, that is how many a person talked in the days of Deadwood, whether with words costing four-bits or simple nickel candy simplicity. Actually the puppet masters behind our words paid all kinds of respect and ho-mage to the takings and patterns of the day deriving much solace and commonality from many known and documented persons of the time and place fore which we forebear to bring forth to your illustrious person.

Maybe tis' a case of a failure in your education from the time you were weaned from your mothers teat and set on a path of ignorance into the world instead of such of intelligence and stalworthiness. Such that failure is in those who made a pretense to teach you in such matters and subjects and not with a failing of your own intellectual comprehension and application of said.

Huh. So, you're a moron, too? Cool. Got it.

Quote from: Vmerc@;479894You would have been sick then having to endure the turns of phrase at every corner of my native village.  Next in line to the tower of Babel for incomprehensible discourse.

I'm wondering if you speak like that in person? I doubt it. Because of the delay in the non-face-to-face dealings over the Interwebs, people like you can "flourish" because you can keep a thesaurus next to you when you make posts, taking all the time in the world to seem smart. Wicked.

Talking_Muffin

Quote from: J Arcane;479960Pundy, anymore I think most of the threads on this site don't belong on the RPG forum.  At times it seems like this place has become more about individual posters' personal feuds with each other, than actual conversation.

Every thread seems to follow the same pattern.  OP posts thread topic, various people preach their gospel on the topic oblivious to other posts, Troll of the Month wanders in and trolls everyone for a while, then Poster A says something, and because Poster B doesn't like Poster A, finds some niggling semantic point to "nail them" on, and the two wave their pricks at one another for 30 pages until the thread either dies, or Posters' C and D find some new feud to dominate the conversation with.

I think the OP has become confused.  He has mistaken this board for a site about RPGs, when in reality, he's a troll trying to troll a site about being a troll.

There are two very important reasons I agree with you. 1) Because you are so right and 2) because you're Batman.

See his avatar?  He's writing like the avatar talks, probably for his own amusement.  No one talks like that, except that character.  So no, he's not trying to seem smart by using big words you fucking idiot.

Wow! I didn't get that! Thanks for clearing it up, ass-hat. Maybe you can get up off your knees, wipe your mouth and give the OP a little breather? ;) I understand the speech and why he does it, but it's stupid to rant in that manner. His entire discourse smacks of douchery and just because he has identity issues only makes it worse. And I R smart. I can reed gud. :D

I know you didn't, hence your earlier posts...

Quote from: Talking_Muffin;479858OP, seriously. Who the fuck actually talks like that? Your 50-cent words only make you seem pretentious.

It's pretty clear you had no idea at all he was doing Al Swearengen.

Maybe you could try more effectively to cover the ignorance you showed during your rant.  Pretty sure it's beyond your capabilities though.  What's next, "your momma"?

Yeah, I got the impression he was roleplaying his avatar, and I find it really entertaining.

J Arcane may have a point, though I still find discussions about games to be mostly about games. Despite that, I guess it is a consequence you cannot avoid of light moderation. If someone has a feud with some other poster, no moderator is going to avoid them to go at it.
My name is Ramón Nogueras. Running now Vampire: the Masquerade (Giovanni Chronicles IV for just 3 players), and itching to resume my Call of Cthulhu campaign (The Sense of the Sleight-of-Hand Man).

Just seems too disruptive, plus it takes me forever to get it right.  My daughter says I'm feeling buzzkill.  I can understand Swearengen no problem.  My kid is practically speaking a foreign language at this point.
