Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

VPN Blocked?

The VPN I use appears to be blocked behind a firewall.  It worked fine for the past two years, but starting a few days ago when I try to connect the connection times out.  I've tried switching VPN servers a few times with the same result.  Disconnecting from the VPN and using regular ol' Comcast works fine, but that's something I'd rather not do.

Probably is blocked due to a high load of bad behavior.

Justin Alexander

PIA? I'm having the same problem. Really needs to be fixed.

What VPN are you using?

Apparition

I use IPVanish.  Justin referenced PIA, which is Private Internet Access.  If both VPN services have suddenly become blocked, then there is a definite issue.

brettmb

Can't find an issue with those sites. If they have IP addresses not associated with their own web domains, I have no way of knowing what they are unless you PM me your IP address.

Note that VPNs are often used for spam and hacking, so they are usually on a blacklist for good reason.

Justin Alexander

You can ping PIA's servers here to build your white list: https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/pages/network/

This'll be the last time I show up here, though, until you get your website fixed.

I'm not whitelisting VPNs as a whole, just for individuals.

Justin Alexander

Your gross ignorance of how the internet works is noted and ridiculed.

Buh-bye.

With attitudes like that, no VPN access for anyone. I was willing to give you access on a personal basis, but if you're going to shit on my kindness, good riddance. And clearly, you don't understand the world of internet hackers, spammers, and troublemakers.
