Anyways, Gunhilda only responded to one part of my questions; the others would be to ask exactly wtf a Moderator does, and also to confirm that people who do not choose to become members of a given group can still read the posts in the other group, even if they can't post to it?

As a moderator you can post in the swine forum - but you can't moderate there or anywhere but the pundit forum.  So gather your armies young mod - for the Nutkins have smiled upon you and great fortune awaits the winner of this epic contest of wills between you and Maddman. The fortune of the free world rides on your shoulders - and none know which side will prevail. Only one thing is certain - both forums die when they lose the funneh :heh:

You can't ban anyone (neither can maddman) but feel free to close open and sticky threads :)

I had responded to the offensive post before reading further down on the thread and noticing your moderator "warning" about it.

I understand your position, and I think that these new fora are fine if they help to keep people from senselessly arguing the same cyclical debate over and over again, and especially if it stops people from threadcrapping (note though that I'd still like to get answers to those questions of mine).

However, if this forum is just a subtle form of censorship, where absolutely ANYTHING that I or certain other people post will be taken as "potentially offensive" and be thrown back to the "pundit parlor" then this really won't be a productive change around here...

Let me sell you straight on this, Pundit.  We don't care what you discuss out in the other forums, but if threads devolve into "yes it is!" "no it isn't" endless arguments and self wankery, then it might end up in the new forums.  Also, we Squirrels like to keep ourselves amused, and we find this amusing.  For the moment.

Now...  where did I put the gasoline for this thing? :heh:

BTW, usernames in blue are pundits. Usernames in purple are swine.  Usernames in yellow are mice and in brown are rats. Those two groups will debut next week.

Note we will be watching.  You take it to far and you'll wake up in the basment of a eastern european rundown hotel tied to chair while a large hairy Russian does unseemly things to your nether regions.

Oh and I have many large weapons just in case you try to get away.  :heh:
