Could it be you're looking in the wrong place? - Do you realize your user rank title is in bold under your name and custom user title in the postbit?

Do you realize the first line is your user name, the second is your user title, and the third is your user rank.  I installed a hack to change your rank, the second item in the list, depending on your level.  Your custom user pronouncement won't change until an admin changes it or you reach the level where you can change it and you do.

And I'm assuming that at some point we're going to be able to choose which "class" of user rank will show for us?

Rumor has it you do this by editting your profile.

One other thing a frog told me that you in particular can do is receive PM's.  I think he's lying, but check your inbox anyway.
