SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Editing a news story puts it back in the mod approval queue

I noticed the news item I recently posted (Content Secured for MODERNIZED Issue #4) was lacking some info, so I edited it.  The news item is now off the news page and pending mod approval again.  I can see why this exists (a news item could forseeably be edited post-approval and changed to something that would not have otherwise been approved).

Just wanted to let folks know this will happen.  When you post a news item, try and get everything right; if you edit it later to correct your spelling or fix a mistake, it might take more time for the news item to reappear.

yep. all of the above is true, and you pretty much nailed the reasons for it.

At the same time, I am usually keeping an eye on the site, so the turn-around time is only long when i'm in class or asleep.

I've noticed the turnaround for news is far better than a certain other site.  Hint: it's name begins with an E and ends in a D.

Wish I had more time to newshoud right now, but it's the end of the semester, and that's valuable writing time. :(

Yeah I need to get back into the habit of posting 5-6 stories per day.
